My coaching and editing work stems from a deep desire for there to be more representative fiction out there to serve gay men and queer people. Growing up under Section 28 in the UK shaped my views on justice, fairness, and the need for people to see themselves represented in the stories they read. That was taken away in my childhood and my adolescence, so now I work with authors to put out books that celebrate gay men and their relationships in love and life.

Having spent over a decade in English education, my background means I am well equipped to work with novice writers and authors with previous publishing credits. The goal is always the same: I work with the text in front of me and provide feedback that will help to bring it in line with the author’s intention, genre expectations, and to provide the emotional resonance the author wants the reader to feel.

Your vision, your ideal story, and me by your side as we work through revisions of a first draft or start from an idea and take it all the way through to publication. There is no blanket approach in creative writing and publishing, so let’s continue to celebrate these awesome gay characters together.
