2022-23 GCA Board of Directors Recommendation Form

The Gay Coaches Alliance is seeking to fill four open at-large positions on its 2022-23 Board of Directors. The all-volunteer GCA Board of Directors is comprised of 9 members – four officers and five at-large members. As the GCA’s governing body, the board works on behalf of the members, with guidance from our bylaws.

Eligibility: All board members must be a GCA member in good standing.

Term Length: The term is 1 year in duration, May 2022 to May 2023. However, board members often choose to continue serve additional terms. The term limit is four years.

Time commitment: Board members attend a monthly board meeting via Zoom, on the third Monday of the month, at 12:00-1:30 p.m. (U.S. Eastern Time Zone). Board members are encouraged to attend monthly member meetings on Zoom second Thursday of each month 4:00-5:15 p.m. (U.S. Eastern time) and also GCA’s conferences. Some board members volunteer to head up committees for special projects that take additional time.

Selection Process: The GCA Nominating Committee is contacting GCA members who regularly participate in our monthly meetings and virtual conferences, or who have been recommended to explore interest in serving. Then, the committee will create a recommended slate for the 2022-23 Board of Directors. The slate will be presented for a vote at the annual membership meeting during GCA’s annual conference in May. Additional nominations can also be made at the membership meeting, including self-nomination.
